I’m really happy with how this recent crowdfunding campaign with Iris Anson went. At the end of last year Iris was looking at ways to get funding to grow her innovative shoe manufacturer Solely Original.
Aiming for a £70k target on crowdfunding platform Crowdcube, Iris had a big challenge on her hands, not least because she was seeking investment for a quality service aimed at women. Most investors on the top crowdfunding sites in the UK are men (estimates suggest around 75%).
Key to Iris's success however was her unshakeable persistence and sense of purpose. Iris pursued all angles and ideas for drumming up the funds she needed in the face of some substantial challenges, and it was a real pleasure to work with her on the campaign.
I'm delighted that it was successful and she can now focus on growing her fantastic business further.
