Blooms is the idea of Lu Li, Founder & CEO at Blooming Founders, a network for entrepreneurial women to meet like-minded people and share expertise.
Located in London’s trendy Shoreditch, the new co-working space aims to provide members with access to expert mentors, investors, events and networking opportunities and also provides beautiful collaborative working spaces and an on-site crèche.
I’ve coached and mentored hundreds of businesswomen over the past several years and continue to grow an appreciation of the repeated challenges that many of them face when setting up and building their businesses.
As a result, one of my aims is to help break the consistent pattern we see in the significant underfunding of women entrepreneurs.
Businesswomen like Julie Hall of women-unlimited.co.uk and Simone-Brummelhuis at www.thenextwomen.co have been hugely active in supporting women-led startups, helping their founders secure seed capital or develop the confidence and skills they need to grow their enterprises. I've also been inspired by the many female founders who speak out on the challenges of women in business, such as Sarah Orecchia and Maggie Bolger. For me, Blooms represents another encouraging step towards breaking some old, dated patterns and making funding more accessible to female entrepreneurs, as well as connecting those who are travelling similar journeys. |
Lu Li is also the publisher of the startup book Dear Female Founder.
