_12th-18th November 2012. All week. Worldwide. Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest campaign to promote entrepreneurship across 115 countries. This year it takes place between 12th and 18th November. In the UK, the campaign is hosted by Youth Business International, a global network of initiatives that helps young entrepreneurs to start their own business, in partnership with Barclays. Last year over 900 partner organisations got involved in the week in the UK, reaching 213,000 people through 2,305 activities. Read more about the 2011 campaign.
This year the campaign promises to be even better. If you’re thinking about starting a business, or are in the early stages of running a business, then make sure you attend an event which can help you with your entrepreneurial journey. Check out what's on in your area here.

There will also be a rare opportunity to hear from some of Britain’s top entrepreneurs on the evening of 12th November at the Question Time for Entrepreneurs panel, including the British Library's Entrepreneur in Residence, Stephen Fear. Some of the key issues that will be debated include: successfully managing growth, getting more for less and generating extra sales fast without spending a fortune on marketing. You'll also have the opportunity to put your questions to the panel about the new opportunities created by social media as well as finding out about crucial financial skills such as managing your cash-flow, budgeting and cost-cutting in a difficult economic climate.

ENDED - Funding opportunities at Venturefest 2012
I spoke at Venturefest 2012 this year - a free business creation networking event held at Oxford's Saïd Business School on Tuesday, 19th June. The event had an exciting programme of sessions which ran alongside the Innovation Showcase and Exhibition. If you weren't able to get there this time, the clever folks at Elephant Creative, who were taking part on some of the expert panels, also managed to live blog and tweet about the event throughout the day. You can read their summary of my session, 'Creative Ways to Fund Your Business', here as well as summaries of the other presentations. At the heart of Venturefest is the funding stream. All day long, entrepreneurs seeking capital to start or expand their businesses were able to give 15-minute presentations to an audience of several hundred people among whom were investors, venture capital companies and high net worth individuals actively seeking to invest.
